On arrival we were greeted by Ellie one of the owners, she was very warm and welcoming. After a little chat she took us through the usual brief, heath and safety and got us to sign a disclaimer form which is standard practice. We were giving a box to put our things in which we were able to take in to the room us with the understanding we wouldn’t access it during the game.

Room Set Up

The room was spacious with a minimal amount of props in although this was enough to set the story line for the theme. There was a good use of sound effects and visuals which kept us on our toes throughout the game. The maximum size team for this game is 6, there would be plenty of room for a team this size.

Game Play

The game was linear, which used combination and key padlocks. The game play had a good flow. Towards the beginning of the game we found a little surprise which had been left for us in the room, we thought this was a really good touch to the game which really submerged us in the theme. Every now and again we would have a video message on screen which scared us into working faster.

Clue System

Clues were passed to us at various places in the game. We had never been given clues in this way but though it was very inventive, we don’t want to give to much away but it added to the immersion and fit the theme.

Escape Time

We were very close to the end however we failed to escape this room.

Although we were a little disappointed we failed this room but this was our own doing by overthinking, we really enjoyed ourselves. The owners created a really great room and put lots of thought into the setting of the game, who would have thought this started out as a kickstarter project. They made very good use of sound effects, we loved the surprise in the room which gave it a very personal touch, it gave it a theatrical edge and really submerged you into the story’s plot. We really cannot wait for the next room you are conjuring up.
