Theme

“A team of intrepid researchers has discovered a pyramid in the golden sands of the Egyptian desert. Nobody has been here for more than 3000 years. They will be the first to see the burial chambers and other secrets of the pyramid. IF they can survive. The explorers need to make sure to solve all the riddles of the pyramid: the wily Egyptians have set plenty of traps. “The Mummy” sends players to another world, where they boldly take on the most complex tests. Will they escape the Pharaoh’s curse?”

Host

Our hosts Mark and Liam were very accommodating for our last minute evening visit they welcomed us both to Ilocked. Mark who is the creator of Ilocked has a massive passion for his rooms and after visiting them we defiantly know why. Mark also offered us a tour of Alien which is a harder game designed for more than 2 players so we were unable to play but we were impressed with the set up and urge people to visit. Liam gave us our briefing he was new so stumbled on some parts but we really didn’t mind as everyone has to start from somewhere.

Room Setup

The room is incredible and unlike any set up we had experienced before. For this game there are 2 options you can have the lights on or lights off with lanterns but we opted for lights on (as Laura is a wimp). There wasn’t a piece of this room out of place as you were transported to ancient Egypt in the middle of Nottingham town centre. The room had a plenty of space for the maximum team size but could get a little cosy in parts of the game.

Game Play

The game was a fully automated linear game which was completely new to us but once we found the pattern we knew what to do. The game had a mixture of observational, skill and physical puzzles with not a padlock in sight, the game flowed superbly.

Clues are delivered by walkie talkie

Escape Time

67 Minutes, even though you are only given an hour we feel like as a 2 this was a good time.

For anyone in Nottingham you need to go to Ilocked for the fully immersive experience, the games are on a different level to what we have played previously; Mark is just genius and is a great host. We recommend this game for all ages, both experienced and newbie escapists will enjoy this game. We also had a chat with Mark about their new game yet to open Battleship and we cannot wait to come back and visit.
