Theme

The Puzzlemaster has a job for you – can you recover a secret document from a rival organisation? We’ve tracked it down to a Submarine located just off the Cornish coast, arranged for it to have an accident and now it’s taking on water. The crew are gone, but we don’t have long before the water flooding in destroys the document.

Can you and your team break through their security and recover the document in time?

Host

When we arrived we were greeted by Jason and Issac who were very passionate about their escape room. After a chat about Puzzle Room and how they just moved to a new location we were excited to get stuck in. Issac read us our brief and explained our mission.

Room Set Up

The lighting of the room was dark but this fitting for the theme, the decoration really immersed you on board of a submarine submerged in the deep ocean. There is plenty of floor space to accommodate a larger team but the maximum size team could be a bit of a squeeze. There is an added surprise which may put a damper on the end goal of your mission 😉 Again no spoilers…

Game Play

This game was a good test of our abilities, there was a varied mixture of logic, skill, and observational puzzles. All of the puzzles were in keeping with the theme, Jason and Issac did a fantastic job in using all the things you would expect to find in a submarine and turning it into a challenging game. This game had a few non linear aspects which came together to move closer to completing your mission and obtaining the documents.

Clue System

We were given walkie talkies at the beginning of the game which we used to contact the hosts.

Escape Time

We failed our mission and now the documents will be leaked 😉

Our Overall Rating

Puzzles ★★★★★

Immersion ★★★☆☆

Difficulty ★★★★★

Wow Factor ★★★★

Overall Experience ★★★★

We enjoyed the puzzles in this room as it stretched our abilities to the maximum and encountered new exciting puzzles. This room would be suitable for larger teams as some tasks can be completed in smaller groups or individually giving everyone the chance to get involved. This room is great for families as the creators have incorporate ideas which would appeal to younger enthusiasts and the location of the game would be a all round day out at Mount Hawke.
